“For I know their works and their thoughts, and the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and shall see my glory.” (Isa. 66:18)
Christians easily recognize this prophecy from Isaiah as a prediction of God’s call to all humanity through Jesus Christ to be part of “the new heavens and the new earth” that shall “remain before the Lord forever.” (Isa. 66:22) Through Jesus, God offers all humanity—Jew and Gentile, slave and free, man and woman (Gal 3:28)—the chance to become citizens in His kingdom forever.
Christians should never share the gospel out of a pathological need to make everybody be or act just like us. Christians should share the story of Jesus out of love for family and neighbor; do you want your friends and family to have eternal life? Would you like them to be “like angels” in the new heaven and new earth (Mark 12:25)?
If you knew that you had a medicine that would definitely cure your best friend’s fatal disease, how hard would you work to convince him to give it a shot? If you trust Christ, you have the medicine that alone can cure the fatal illness brought on by sin. What’s keeping you from sharing it?
